Among the most esteemed German photojournalists of the postwar period, Robert Lebeck (1929�2014) used his charisma and mischievous nature to instantly and naturally connect with his subjects. I’ve been there at least a dozen times in all seasons looking at a view of a collection of trees and rock watching the light bounce and reflect in the orange canyon backlighting the pine trees. Around 1919, after having studied philosophy at the University of Bonn and serving in the German army, Max Ernst (1891-1976) began experimenting with collage: "One day (in 1919), whereas I looked at an illustrated book of objects (umbrellas, watches, tools, clothing, etc) I was surprised to see such different things tight beside the others, things which one does not see together usually, my eyes saw other objects, I wanted to add with the pencil some lines and hatchings between the various objects so that it gives the same images that I see in my dreams."

The China Archive is a data archive dedicated to support of scholarly, empirical research by anthropologists, economists, historians, political scientists, sociologists, and others in the fields of business, agriculture, and engineering.
