Five months after the Arab-Israeli "six day war" of June 1967, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 242, which states general principles on which "a just and lasting peace in the Middle East" should be established. It acquired major territories, most of which, in its never-ending quest for peace, it returned. It accords equal rights to Islam, Christianity and all other religions, as well as to atheists and agnostics. It is important to note that during their 19-year rule, neither Jordan nor Egypt had made any effort to establish a Palestinian state on those lands.

Arab refusal to enter into peace negotiations persists to this day, inflexible as ever. The Palestinians decline to enter into negotiations with Israel unless Israel first accepts the "pre-1967 borders" (borders that have never existed; they are merely the armistice line of where the fighting stopped in 1949), agrees to Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state, and ends all construction in areas acquired by Israel as a result of the 1967 war , cited: Palestine in general history, (The Schweich lectures of the British academy. 1926) eatdrinkitaly.org.
Hamas has rejected prior agreements reached with Israel with such contempt as to exasperate even the dovish former prime minister, Shimon Peres. The name for them now is the Geneva accords. Their historical origin is Camp David (blocked by Israel), and Taba (blocked by Israel). However, there are high level Israeli negotiators who believe this is the right settlement. The person who is the most wrong, in the Israel-Palestinian conflict, is categorically the president of the United States – since without US support there is little belief that Israel could continue to block peace in the region or continue to ignore world court rulings. -Admit that the blockade of Gaza, which he claims he will end, was actually enabled by US support -Point out that Israel is justified to defend itself, but only justified to defend itself with force if there is no non-violent way to defend itself What do you mean by saying the US should ‘Recognize the World Court?’ Given that the United States has a member sitting on the court (Thomas Buergenthal), they are clearly involved with the court The Ride Through Palestine download epub download epub

There is no historical evidence to suggest Mohammed ever visited Jerusalem. So how did Jerusalem become the third holiest site of Islam?
